Description of Ellman FFPF Surgitron Cautery Unit / ESU

The patented Surgitron Dual Frequency unit represents advanced radiowave technology that provides unparalleled surgical control, precision, versatility and safety of cutting and coagulation soft tissues.

The high frequency of 4.0MHz minimizes heat dissipation and thus cellular alteration. Clinical benefits include reduced post-operative discomfort, minimal scar tissue formation, maximum readability of histologic specimen, enhanced healing and excellent cosmetic results.  No pressure is needed and the cells are vaporized in the path of the radio waves, causing them to split apart, much like a hot wire through polystyrene. This results in less trauma to the cells, less fibrous scarring and less postoperative discomfort than typical removal with a scalpel. The other advantage is that the electrodes are self-sterilizing in use, diminishing the likelihood of post procedure infection.
